International Newsletter April 2011

Dear Friends,

Last summer, our ministry No Longer Music played a concert in a large amphitheater in "Park Praski" near the center of Warsaw, Poland. After the concert, I invited people interested in a real relationship with Jesus to come to the torch next to the stage. Around 75 people knelt on the grass and asked Jesus into their lives, while hundreds more watched. Many wept and embraced us because they were so moved by God's presence. Download pdf

The concept of having a life-transforming, radical relationship with Jesus is a foreign concept to many people in Poland because they often have only seen weak, empty and compromised religion. The local pastor we were working with said that he felt more of the Holy Spirit after our concert in that city park than at his church on Sunday morning.

There is power in the message of the cross!!

The concert was organized by Agata Wieliczko, a passionate 21 year old Polish girl. She gave her life to Jesus in 2006 at the Slot Art Festival in Poland. This is how she described what happened to her at Slot:

"I claimed that I didn't need God in my life and I lived my life my own way as a punk, rebellious kid. When I was 17 years old, I went to the Slot Art Festival in Poland and I listened to David Pierce's lectures and I realized that my life was a mess and only God could give me a chance to live in a totally different way. I prayed with David and I have been living with God since that day."

Agata has now become a dynamic young leader and evangelist. That's why we are so excited that she will be attending Steiger's Radical Missionary School (www.steiger.org/schoool) in Krögis, Germany in June. We believe that God has mighty plans for her life.

Last November, I returned to do a speaking tour in Poland with Robert Michalski (a Steiger missionary in Poland). In every city we visited, people would come up to us and tell us how they gave their life to Jesus at previous No Longer Music concerts. Many told me that they are now pastors or mission workers and that they wanted to thank us and let us know the impact that Steiger and the No Longer Music Evangelistic tours have had on their country over the last 24 years. (We first started touring Poland in 1987!)

Despite the enormous fruit we have seen in Poland, there are still so many that have never had the opportunity to hear about the love of Jesus. I was told by a pastor in Krakow that the Christian population in Poland is still very small. In fact, as a percentage of the population, there are 4 times less Evangelical Christians living in Poland than there are in Saudi Arabia!

So that is why I am so excited that, once again, Poland is one of the countries we will be touring in during the 2011 European No Longer Music Evangelistic tour. We are also continuing to build our long-term presence there.

Please pray that hundreds find Jesus during the Polish tour.
Thank you for you prayers and support.
For the lost,
David & Jodi Pierce

Prayer Needs

  1. We still need sponsors for students who will be attending the Radical Missionary School in June. We have people coming from all over the world to this school. Please pray for God’s provision.
  2. Pray for God’s provision for the European No Longer Music tour. Please pray for the team members and organizers as well as for the finances to cover the costs of the tour. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of the thousands of people who will hear a clear message of the Gospel through this tour. Pray also for Jennifer & Aaron Pierce who are managing this year’s tour.

  3. Please pray for the Fuel Discipleship School students who have started their school in early March. Pray they would allow God to do what He wants to do in their hearts and lives. Pray also for the leaders and teachers - that they will really be led by God.
  4. Pray for more workers for the many missionary vacancies we have at present. More information can be found on our website under “Get Involved”

If you would like to receive a weekly email that includes the latest prayer requests submitted by Steiger missionaries from around the world, please send your name and email address to prayer@steiger.org

Sponsor a NLM Concert
Please prayerfully consider financially partnering with us on this tour. We need to raise a total of US$85,000 (which does not include costs covered by local organizers).

Perhaps your church, small group or family could come together to "adopt" a concert. A sponsorship gift of US$2,000 will cover the costs of one concert. As a "Concert Sponsor", you can choose a concert in a particular country and will receive:

Before the concert:
• A description of the concert, venue, type of people in attendance
• A list of prayer requests from the local church partner

After the concert:
• A report describing the concert and the fruit, including pictures and testimonies
• A short video (1-3 minutes) summarizing the concert

Donations can be made online at www.steiger.org/donate. Please specify "NLM Tour" and the specific country in which you would like to sponsor a concert.
