International Newsletter February 2016

Despite outbursts of violence and a government ban on all outdoor events, God made a way for No Longer Music to perform a concert in the center of Mukachevo, Ukraine in August 2015. A massive crowd pressed up against the stage and enthusiastically watched the show. In the end, 100 people raised their hands indicating they wanted to know more about Jesus.

After the concert, our local partner Vitaliy Balko (who attended the Steiger Compact School in Kiev, Ukraine in March 2015) collected the names of those who responded and started a weekly Bible study and music practice. Today, they have around 26 young people who come every week to learn and grow in their walk with Jesus. They have formed two bands that go out once a month to share Jesus on the streets, and they have already seen three people come to Christ.

Last month, ten people from our Steiger Ukraine team went to Mukachevo to meet and encourage the team there. They shared about the Steiger mission principles for reaching Global Youth Culture and had amazing nights of prayer and worship.

This summer, Vitaliy wants to do another No Longer Music show and also a festival. Vitaliy believes that his weekly Bible study, which he now calls a “Steiger movement,” will soon grow into a church.

It is so encouraging to see how God is raising up dynamic, young leaders in Ukraine to multiple the work that was started there.

In 2016, Steiger is investing even more of our time and energy in the Russian-speaking world (see www.steiger.org/russianworldproject). We believe this is a unique opportunity to impact an entire generation throughout the Russian-speaking world with the Gospel!

For the lost,

Aaron Pierce
