International Newsletter March 2014

Dear Friends

Ukraine is in a historic time of revolution.
A few days ago Jodi and I were talking to Denis and Angela Tkachenko, the leaders of the Steiger work in Ukraine. They told us that the politicians that were in power in their country are criminals and completely corrupt.

At the same time, Putin (president of Russia) wants control of Ukraine and is trying to pull Ukraine back under Russian control. Demonstrations and protests have taken place throughout the country and the future is uncertain.

As I write this, my son Ben and Steve Bradley (guitarist from No Longer Music) are in Ukraine teaching at Steiger "Compact" Schools held in 3 different cities (Sumy, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk). Young Ukrainians from all over the country are attending these schools hungry to learn how to reach the secular global youth of their nation. Angela believes that a lot of bold new missionaries will rise in Ukraine.

Later this year, we will be doing an extensive No Longer Music tour throughout Ukraine. Last year, thousands of people attended our concerts there and many gave their lives to Jesus. Check out this short video from a concert in the city of Poltava last year: www.vimeo.com/steigerint/poltava

We are praying that this year even more will be able to hear the truth about Jesus during this time of crisis. In the long run, our vision for Ukraine is to raise up Ukrainian missionaries who will bring the Gospel to secular young people all over the Russian speaking world.

Please pray for the safety of our team in Ukraine and that Godly leaders would take control.

For the lost,
David Pierce

No Longer Music Tour 2014

In addition to Ukraine, No Longer Music (NLM) will be preaching the Gospel in at least 10 other countries all over Europe and the Middle East this year.

The NLM "show" uses a creative blend of live modern music, stage drama and other special effects (i.e. video projections and fire) to present a relevant, yet clear gospel message. By God's power, we expect that thousands will respond to the Gospel at NLM concerts this year.

In Europe, NLM is reaching a generation of young people who are growing up in extreme spiritual poverty, never hearing the truth about Jesus. In the Muslim world, No Longer Music is reaching the "Globalized Muslim Youth" demographic - young, educated, and highly influential Muslims have become increasingly engaged in the global network of communication, music, art, and media.

Support NLM!

In order to meet these critical opportunities to bring the Gospel to the lost, we need those who stand with us through finances and prayer. The tour budget this year is $175,000. A contribution of any size can be made online at www.steiger.org/donate (be sure to include "NLM Tour" in the comment box) or by check.

Sponsor a No Longer Music Concert!

Please prayerfully consider "sponsoring" a concert. A sponsorship gift of US$2,500 will enable No Longer Music to conduct a concert reaching lost secular youth for Jesus. This is also a great way for a church, small group or family to come together to "adopt" a concert. As a "Concert Sponsor", you can choose a concert in a particular country and will receive a description of the concert, venue, type of people in attendance before the concert and a report and short video (1-3 minutes) summarizing the concert.
